According to a survey by Market on behalf of the “Standard”, the VP would only come to 27 percent, which is more than ten percentage points below the election result. SP, FP and NEOS come out stronger, the Greens also lose.
The online survey was carried out by Market with 800 participants from October 11th to 12th, after the resignation of VP Chairman Sebastian Kurz as Federal Chancellor. Although his party is still the strongest faction in this, the SP is moving very close with 25 percent and has gained almost four percent compared to the National Council election in 2019 (21.2 percent). The FP increased even more and came from the original 16.2 to 21 percent.
The NEOS were also able to benefit from the government crisis, winning around 5 points in the Sunday question from Market and would now be 13 percent. Losses – even if only slight – are recorded by the Greens, who are continuing the coalition work after the Chancellor’s resignation: According to Market, they would only come to 11 percent in an election to the National Council, which is a minus of 2.9 points and last place would mean among the parliamentary parties behind the NEOS.
The situation is similar in a survey published on Tuesday in the “Krone”, which was carried out among 1,099 people by the Institute for Demoscopy and Data Analysis (IFDD) – albeit in part before the brief resignation. There the VP comes to 26 percent, the SP to 25 percent (and thus even closer to the Chancellor Party), the FP to 21 percent, NEOS and Grne equal to 11 percent.
