Germany: possible agreement on traffic light coalition

Reuters learned this on Friday from a party representative who had been informed of the status of the exploratory talks.

The committees of the Greens and FDP already began deliberations on Friday about the previous results of the explorations on a possible traffic light coalition with the SPD. In the morning, the expanded 24-person exploratory team of the Greens met and then the party council, as the German press agency learned from party circles. The decision has to be made by a small party congress. At noon, the FDP’s federal executive committee was informed of the results of the talks. The FDP parliamentary group was already involved.

At lunchtime, the negotiators from the SPD, Greens and FDP want to announce the results of their possibly decisive exploratory talks. The parties invited to a statement at around 1 p.m. They met early in the morning at the Berlin exhibition center to take stock of their negotiations so far.
