According to Federal Health Minister Jens Spahn, the nationwide exceptional corona situation should not be extended. The CDU politician pleaded on Monday at the conference of health ministers after information from participants that the epidemic situation of national importance in Germany should expire on November 25th.
In March 2020, the Bundestag determined the epidemic situation for the whole of Germany for the first time due to the spread of the corona virus. It was then extended again and again. This allows the federal government to issue ordinances, which then form the basis for corona restrictions for the federal states.
According to the participants, the decisive reason for Spahn’s plea was that the Robert Koch Institute now only classifies the risk situation for vaccinated people and the risk of overburdening the health system as moderate. The RKI has long been pointing out that almost all infections and, above all, the severe course of the corona disease occur almost exclusively in unvaccinated people. Spahn also pleaded that the hygiene and distance rules should continue to be followed, as the all-clear could not yet be given.
