Three new presidents and a disappointed VP grandee

LINZ. “No, I want to remain a councilor for agriculture and communes until 2027.” That’s what Max Hiegelsberger (VP) said in July when asked whether he was aiming for the office of state parliament president. Now it turns out differently. That could sometimes be the case in politics, says Hiegelsberger when asked: “I’m looking forward to a new, interesting task.” The fact that Michaela Langer-Weninger is following as a regional artist “makes my step easier”. According to reports, Hiegelsberger was surprised at the time of castling, he would have wanted to continue a few more projects, but as a pragmatist he has now made friends with the situation. According to information from ON, Wolfgang Stanek is disappointed, who has to resign as the first president of the state parliament after only 21 months and remains a “simple” member of parliament. He was passionate about the presidential job.

He found out about the plans “at relatively short notice” and did not comment on them, says Stanek when asked. But he does emphasize that “we have achieved a lot in the one and three quarters years for the state parliament, democracy, voluntary work and, for example, accessibility and security in the country house”. He will now fully devote himself to his main issues as a member of parliament, especially in his constituency of Linz and the surrounding area.

One argument from the VP is that Stanek was only given a guarantee as president until the end of this period. Stanek had followed Viktor Sigl.

Twice Binder in the Presidium

There is also a plan change in the FP: It is not Franz Graf who will be the new Second President of the State Parliament, but Sabine Binder will be the new Second President of the State Parliament. Otherwise all top positions would have been occupied by men again.

As reported, the SP Peter Binder will be the new third president of the state parliament. (az)
