The Adnkronos news agency reported that the 86-year-old parliamentarian was being treated in intensive care at the San Raffaele clinic in Milan. The Ansa news agency also reported his admission to a hospital.
There was initially no official confirmation from the family of the politician and media entrepreneur or the Forza Italia party. According to the reports, Berlusconi is being treated for cardiovascular problems. He was only released last Thursday after a four-day stay in that clinic – officially for routine examinations.
