According to the Federal Criminal Police Office, most of the crimes in the first weeks of the war were directed against Russia. The past few months have been different: crimes with “anti-Ukrainian intentions” predominated.
According to a newspaper report, around 6,000 crimes related to the Russian war of aggression in Ukraine have been registered in Germany since the beginning of the war.
As the “Neue Osnabrücker Zeitung” reports, citing the Federal Criminal Police Office (BKA), most of the crimes committed in the first two weeks of the war were directed against Russia. In recent months, however, crimes with an “anti-Ukrainian intention” have predominated.
According to the information, the crimes recorded include property damage, insults, threats, but also physical assaults. More than a third of all crimes were already registered in the first 13 weeks of the war – i.e. in the period from February 24, 2022 to the end of May 2022.
