Daniel Eckert, 22, is an activist of the “Last Generation”. On Monday he was sentenced to five months in prison. Eckert is considered a repeat offender. In March, the court sentenced him to three months in prison for blocking a street in Heilbronn. A few hours after the verdict, he stuck himself again.
Mr. Eckert, on Monday you were sentenced to five months in prison for coercion, and in March to three months. When do you have to serve the penalties?
That is not certain yet, because the verdicts are not yet final, we have appealed them. Prison is not a pleasant prospect and the thought scares me too. But the perspective of doing nothing and letting the climate catastrophe happen is even more unbearable for me.
