Mückstein announces the 2.5G rule in the workplace

“That means, with the 14-day transition period, where FFP2 masks are still accepted as an alternative, we will make a 2.5G regulation in the workplace from November 15th,” said Mückstein on Friday evening in the ORF news program “Zeit in the picture”.

The federal government’s step-by-step plan stipulates that antigen tests are no longer valid as evidence of tests if there are more than 400 intensive care beds in use. Unvaccinated people then have to show a current PCR laboratory test.

As of Friday, 280 Covid patients were in intensive care units across Austria – 15 more than the day before. Mückstein assumes that the value of 400 intensive care beds will be reached by the end of next week.

To implement the 2.5G rule in the workplace, there are still further discussions with the social partners, it was said from government circles on Friday evening at the APA.
