The trigger: Before moving into politics, Löger was CEO of Uniqa-Versicherung, whose subsidiary is PremiQaMed. The latter sponsored VP boss Sebastian Kurz’s election campaign in 2017 with a total of 50,000 euros. Later, PremiQaMed was the main beneficiary of an increase in the private clinic fund (Prikraf) by the turquoise-blue government. Because “the proof of a criminal act could not be provided”, the investigations were stopped, confirmed the WKStA at the request of the OÖNachrichten. In an unspecified sub-area, further checks are being carried out.
