State party conference: NRW-Greens: Scholz shirks responsibility

The polls for the Greens at federal level have fallen as a result of the heating dispute. In North Rhine-Westphalia they have now started their state party conference – with an accusation against Chancellor Scholz.

The Greens in North Rhine-Westphalia started their two-day state party conference with an accusation against the Chancellor.

In her speech, state chairwoman Yazgülü Zeybek accused Olaf Scholz (SPD) of shirking responsibility in the heating dispute. “No one dared to pass the law. It makes a decisive contribution to climate neutrality,” said Zeybek in front of 209 delegates in Münster. “We take responsibility. We have the will to shape things. Unfortunately, you can’t say that about everyone,” said State Chair Scholz directly.

Homeowners and tradespeople need answers and commitments, not scaremongering. “Not tackling the heat transition would leave people alone when prices rise. Stop this campaign,” said the state chairwoman.

Against the background of the so-called heating dispute, the poll numbers of the Greens at federal level have fallen: According to an Insa poll from the end of May, the Greens are currently at 13 percent. This is the worst value since 2018.
