Innocent in court – this horror was experienced by 25 people accused of alleged child abuse in the 1990s. The abuse never happened, but the stigma still clings to them today.
From 1994 to 1997, 25 people from Worms and the surrounding area stood before the court who had been charged with mass child abuse. Above all, there were parents on trial who are said to have violated their own children and whose families were therefore torn apart. All of which were innocent – and then acquitted.
But the flaw of this process still sticks to many families, says court reporter Gisela Friedrichsen in the podcast “Today important”. More and more companies are complaining about a shortage of skilled workers. In a study by the Bertelsmann Foundation, 66 percent of the companies surveyed stated that they did not have enough staff with vocational training; the health and care sector is particularly affected. In order to attract new employees, companies come up with increasingly unusual measures, says labor market expert Frauke Holzmeier.
