Russian invasion: rockets hit apartment building in south-eastern Ukraine

At least six people have been killed in a Russian attack on the Ukrainian city of Kryvyi Rih. More than two dozen people were reportedly injured.

According to official information, a five-story residential building in the south-eastern city of Kryvyi Rih was hit in new Russian attacks on Ukraine. At least six people were killed, the head of the local military administration, Olexander Wilkul, said on Telegram on Tuesday. The search for buried residents continues in the rubble. According to the military governor of the Dnepropetrovsk region, Serhiy Lysak, at least 25 people were injured.

Kryvyi Rih, the hometown of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, was rocked by a “massive rocket attack,” Lyssak wrote. Three cruise missiles were able to fend off the air defenses, but others hit civilian objects.

Air alert was also declared in several other regions of Ukraine. The Russians had fired cruise missiles again, including at the capital Kiev, the authorities there said. There, however, their own air defense shot down all enemy flying objects. There were reports of drone strikes from the eastern city of Kharkiv. According to the Ukrainian general staff, Russia fired a total of 14 cruise missiles at the neighboring country during the night, ten of which were repelled.
