U Committee: false statements against Blümel put aside

The investigations have been discontinued, the Economic and Corruption Prosecutor’s Office (WKStA) has filed three complaints – two from other parties, one anonymously – reported the “Kurier” online on Thursday.

A complaint was filed in August for lack of initial suspicion. In the meantime, the WKStA has confirmed that against Flowers ÖVP lawyer Werner Suppan explained in the ORF evening journal that no proceedings are pending due to false evidence.

Had indicated Flowers the U-Committee faction leaders of the SPÖ, NEOS and FPÖ and the NEOS once extra. The reason for the factual presentation of the faction leaders was the discrepancy between the statements of the finance minister during his questioning on June 25 of last year and various chat messages that came to the public, such as those between Flowers and ex-Novomatic boss Harald Neumann.

In connection with this chat, the WKStA determined, confirmed Suppan, but still further against Flowers – because of a donation mentioned in it. In the short message Neumann asked for a short appointment with ex-Chancellor Sebastian Kurz “firstly because of a donation and secondly about a problem we have in Italy”.
