“An investment in the future”: At a two-day conference, the international elite from business and politics will discuss how the war damage in Ukraine can be repaired. It’s about hundreds of billions of euros – and about emotional messages. A Marshall Plan is intended to secure the country’s future in Europe.
The list of keynote speakers is impressive: in addition to US Secretary of State Antony Blinken, it includes British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak and EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen. Plus Annalena Baerbock and the foreign ministers of France, Italy, Poland and Japan. Latvia and Estonia have even sent their heads of state. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy joined via video link. And the British entrepreneur and Ukraine partner Richard Branson gave the event celebrity splendor with his welcoming address to the more than 1000 participants from 61 countries.
