The decision is made today, but in all federal states with the exception of Burgenland the criteria for level 3 of the school safety concept have already been reached or are close to being reached (risk-adjusted incidence over 200, intensive care units at least 20 percent full). This means that high school students and teachers have to wear masks all the time again. School events are no longer allowed to take place, and teaching offers from external partners are also canceled. Parents’ consultation days must be carried out digitally.
The number of positive tests in schools has increased significantly: Monday and Tuesday, excluding Vienna, 1832 positive PCR tests were reported. As of yesterday, four schools and 126 classes were closed in Austria (excluding Vienna), on the Friday of last week there were only 22 classes.
