“Four years of good jokes” – Till Reiners on the future traffic light

A lot of messing around, false surprises and unclear communication. What is currently missing in politics are clear announcements, says the comedian Till Reiners. He is already looking forward to the future traffic light government, because it promises material for four years of good gags.

Freedom of expression is just as valuable as a difficult field. Does freedom of expression have limits? If yes, where? And who determines it? If not, can anything be said? Till Reiners is a satirist, among others for RTL Top News, and he often sees the problem more in what is not said than in what is said: “There is a large void of big announcements, especially in politics.” According to Reiners, there is currently too great a fear in politics of being viewed as authoritarian, so much is communicated only vaguely. He has hope with a view to the traffic light coalition. He admires how disciplined these are still tight at the moment, but also believes that the coalition negotiations “will result in really crooked compromises that can still be joked about very well in the next four years.”

People in Germany are more dissatisfied than ever

Vaccination makes you happy. That is the result of this year’s happiness atlas. Every year, Deutsche Post commissions a representative survey on people’s satisfaction with life. And lo and behold: Vaccinated people experienced a significant boost of happiness and increased their life satisfaction, according to the report. Meanwhile, those unwilling to vaccinate are more dissatisfied with their lives than the average population.

Podcast “important today”

Sure, strong opinion, on the 12: “Today important” is not just a news podcast. We set topics and initiate debates – with poise and sometimes uncomfortably. This is what host Michel Abdollahi and his team speak out for stern– and RTL reporters: inside with the most exciting people from politics, society and entertainment. They let all voices have their say, the quiet and the loud. Anyone who hears “important today” starts the day with information and can have a sound say.

Overall, however, the Glücksatlas paints a rather depressing picture: Germans have never been as unhappy as they are now. The respondents were asked to rate their satisfaction on a scale from 0, not at all, to 10, absolutely satisfied. The result for 2021: 6.58 points. Record since the first survey almost 40 years ago. Before the pandemic, the value was 7.14. The happiest occupational group are civil servants, the most unhappy federal state is Berlin and women are on average more dissatisfied with their lives than men.
