There will be a video conference with the governors on Sunday. After that there should be nationwide “green light” for lockdowns for unvaccinated people, said Alexander Schallenberg (VP). On the evening of the same day, the main committee of the National Council is to provide the legally required approval.
According to Schallenberg and Health Minister Wolfgang Mückstein (Greens), the measure will officially apply from Monday in Upper Austria and Salzburg. It was unofficially confirmed that the lockdown would also start in the seven other countries at the same time.

As an “imperative of the hour”, Mückstein followed up with a coercive measure that had hitherto been discussed rather marginally. Accordingly, there is a compulsory vaccination for health workers, not just for doctors and nurses, but for “everyone who works in this area”. Tyrolean governor Günther Platter (VP), currently LH chairman, signaled that no cross-shots were to be expected on Sunday for the planned measures: he had found “approval” in his committee. Only Hans Peter Doskozil (SP, Burgenland) doubted whether the lockdown made sense.
Vienna is partially introducing “2Gplus”
Mayor Michael Ludwig (SP) announced further tightening in Vienna on Friday evening: “2Gplus” will be introduced in night-time restaurants and events for 25 people or more.
