STORY: North Korean state television has released pictures showing ruler Kim Jong Un accompanied by his daughter during a visit to the naval command on Sunday. The occasion was the celebration of Navy Day of the Korean People’s Army. As the North Korean state media reported on Tuesday, Kim called for the strengthening of the country’s naval forces in a speech. And he accused the United States of a very unstable situation in the waters near the Korean Peninsula, with the threat of nuclear war. The US and South Korea began military exercises last week to improve a joint response to North Korea’s nuclear threat. Pyongyang condemned the exercises, saying they were preparations for war.
