Jacob Chansley, known as the “Qanon Shaman”, has been sentenced to three years and five months in prison for participating in the Assault on the Capitol. This is reported by several media. A federal judge in the US capital Washington sentenced the 34-year-old to a 41-month sentence on Wednesday, reports the AFP.
Jacob Chansley – or more precisely Jacob Anthony Angeli Chansley – from Arizona is considered to be the face of the unrest of January 6th: Hardly a video or photo series could do without the “Qanon shaman”, a bizarre and imposing figure with his fur hat in the trapper -Style, the horns, the face-paint in the colors of the US flag, tattoos, spear and shirtless. He was charged with inciting the crowd and being among the first to break into the Capitol. Chansley pleaded guilty to obstructing Congress.
