Soumitra Bhattacharya was until recently President of Bosch in India. In the interview, he explains what great opportunities German companies have there, but why new investors are having a particularly difficult time right now. According to the top manager, his country still has a lot of catching up to do despite the economic boom – especially in one area.
Last year, Bosch’s Indian branch celebrated its 100th anniversary. Top manager Soumitra Bhattacharya, 64, has spent almost his entire professional life at the Stuttgart-based group, almost entirely at Bosch India. Under his aegis, the company in India has grown to over 30,000 employees. He was also largely responsible for the new building of the company headquarters in Bangalore, inaugurated for the anniversary in 2022. The company headquarters in the middle of the southern Indian metropolis, where he star is more modern than many office buildings in Germany.
