It’s a sensational trip in a special armored train: North Korean leader Kim Jong Un has arrived in Russia on his first trip abroad since 2019. According to the Russian state news agency Ria Novosti, the train carrying Kim and his delegation crossed the border with Russia.
According to Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov, talks between Kim and Russian President Vladimir Putin on “delicate issues” are planned, and observers expect negotiations possibly over mutual arms deliveries.
Video of Kim’s arrival probably from Monday
The South Korean Defense Ministry also announced that Kim’s special train reached Russia on Tuesday. In footage shared by Ria Novosti, the dark green and yellow-striped carriages of the Kim train were seen being pulled by a Russian Railways locomotive.
Russian media published a video of Us arriving in the east of the giant country. However, it was apparently taken on Monday evening during a stopover in the border town of Khasan in the Russian Far East.
North Korean weapons experts on board
According to the North Korean news agency KCNA, Kim was accompanied on his trip by high-ranking military officials, including officials responsible for weapons production and space technology.
