In order to secure Germany’s energy supply, the federal government got involved with a questionable LNG entrepreneur. Now his doctorate is coming into focus.
People like Stephan Knabe know how to capitalize on Germany’s emergency situation. When Vladimir Putin turns off the gas tap, the tax advisor has an idea. Together with a business partner, a real estate entrepreneur from Bruchsal in Baden, Knabe wants to enter the gas business on a large scale.
They founded Deutsche ReGas GmbH & Co. KGaA and chartered an LNG terminal ship. The floating factory, which processes liquid gas for power plants, is to be moored in Lubmin in Mecklenburg-Western Pomerania and will quickly contribute to Germany’s energy security.
