Majority of Germans for 2G at Christmas markets

The first Christmas markets in Germany open their doors to visitors. Many Germans are in favor of strict corona regulations on the winter markets.

In the run-up to Christmas, many Germans look forward to visiting one of the many Christmas markets in Germany. With the increasing number of infections, however, concerns about infection with the coronavirus are also growing. 54 percent of those surveyed are planning to visit the Christmas market this year, around a third of those surveyed: in 2021, they will refrain from strolling through one of the crowded markets. Another 14 percent were still undecided.

Fourth wave: majority of Germans for 2G at Christmas markets

Of all those surveyed, more than half would support a 2G regulation (vaccinated and / or recovered) at the German Christmas markets. This would ensure the safety of the guests to a certain extent, and vaccination delayers might also be motivated to rethink vaccination. However, over a third of those surveyed reject this practice.
