Other German federal states tighten corona measures

The state government in Schleswig-Holstein passed an ordinance on Saturday according to which the 2G rule will apply in indoor areas of leisure facilities and restaurants from Monday. This means that these can only be visited by those who have been vaccinated or those who have recovered.

Stricter corona rules came into force in Saarland and Hamburg on Saturday. The 2G rule basically applies in indoor areas of restaurants, for example, as well as for sports in closed rooms. In Saarland, when visiting clubs and discos, people who have been vaccinated or recovered must also be tested according to the 2G-Plus rule.

The particularly affected federal states of Bavaria and Saxony decided on far-reaching corona measures on Friday. In Bavaria, there is a lockdown within seven days in circles with a corona incidence of over 1000 new infections per 100,000 inhabitants. The only exceptions are for daycare centers, schools and retailers.

In Saxony, if there is a seven-day incidence of 1000 new infections for unvaccinated people, a nightly curfew between 10 p.m. and 6 a.m. is imposed. The apartment may only be left there for a compelling reason, such as for work. Both countries also canceled all Christmas markets across the country.
