According to a survey, Germany is popular among its citizens. But there are major differences among supporters of different parties.
The vast majority of citizens in this country enjoy living in Germany. 78 percent said this in a report published on Wednesday. However, 19 percent would prefer to live “in another country” if they could choose.
There are major differences depending on political attitudes. 46 percent of AfD supporters would prefer to live in another country, 49 percent of them would like to live in this country.

For the other parties the situation is as follows: Only five percent of SPD supporters would prefer another country to live in; The Greens have twelve percent, the Union has 15 percent and the FDP has 22 percent.

According to the survey, there are also differences between East and West and young and old. 25 percent of East Germans would rather live in a country other than the Federal Republic – among West Germans the figure is 18 percent. Among those over 60, 83 percent like to live in Germany, while among those aged 45 to 59 the figure is 74 percent.
For the Forsa Institute survey, around a thousand people were surveyed representatively on September 25th and 26th.
