Instead of being allowed to work as a judge again, AfD politician Maier is forced into early retirement because of racist comments. The Federal Court of Justice has now confirmed this step.
The AfD politician Jens Maier has to take early retirement. The Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in Karlsruhe decided on Thursday that the former member of the Bundestag is no longer allowed to work as a judge and rejected the 61-year-old’s appeal against a ruling by the Leipzig service court. This had deemed the 61-year-old’s transfer to be permissible last December and justified this with racist and derogatory statements, including on social media. The BGH now found that the judgment did not contain any legal errors. (Ref.: RiZ (R) 1/23)
