Hamas attack on Israel – horror, retaliation and hate demonstrations

The day after Hamas terrorists from Gaza attacked Israel and murdered civilians and soldiers on Israeli territory, the situation in the Middle East is critical. Photos and videos of crimes against Israelis are circulating on social networks, some of which are unclear as to their authenticity. The government in Jerusalem announces retaliation and the Israeli military is shelling Gaza.

On that Saturday morning, a horror struck Israel that the country was unprepared for. Some media compare the situation to September 11, 2001, when Islamist terrorists attacked the USA.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced retaliation. He called on all Palestinians to leave Gaza. In addition, Israel said it responded to shelling from southern Lebanon with artillery fire.

Israel sees itself in a “long and difficult war”

“We are beginning a long and difficult war, forced upon us by a murderous attack by Hamas,” Netanyahu declared on X, formerly Twitter, on Sunday morning, as fighting between the Israeli army and Hamas terrorists continued overnight.

The first phase will end “with the destruction of the majority of enemy forces that have invaded our territory,” Netanyahu announced. At the same time, the “offensive phase” had begun, which would continue “without restrictions or rest periods” until Israel had achieved its goals.

Netanyahu had previously announced in a televised speech that the Israeli army would reduce Hamas’s hideouts in Gaza to “rubble” and devote all its strength to “destroying” Hamas’s capabilities. The attacks prompted Israel to cut off deliveries of electricity, fuel and goods to Gaza.

The Islamic terrorist organization Hamas launched a “war” against Israel with rocket attacks from the Gaza Strip on Saturday morning, which it calls Operation “Al-Aqsa Flood”. Palestinians also invaded Israeli territory from the coastal strip and carried out indiscriminate murders of civilians. Israel responded with attacks on the Gaza Strip, which Hamas controls.

Hundreds dead and thousands injured within one day

According to preliminary information, a total of more than 300 people were killed and more than 2,000 others injured on both sides within one day. According to the Israeli army, “Israeli soldiers and civilians” were taken hostage and some were kidnapped.

Israel’s army put the number of people killed in Hamas attacks and assassinations at 200. “The terrorists rioted and broke into houses and massacred civilians,” it said on X.

According to Palestinian information, at least 232 people had been killed and at least 1,697 other people injured by Saturday evening. Three high-rise buildings with more than 10 floors were also destroyed in Gaza, AFP journalists observed.
