Watch the video: Numerous people injured in attacks on airport in Dagestan
STORY: According to official information, at least 20 people were injured in attacks at Makhachkala Airport in the Russian Republic of Dagestan on Sunday evening. Two of them are in critical condition, local authorities said. After a plane from Tel Aviv landed, a mob allegedly angry about Israel’s actions in the Gaza war stormed the airport. Videos online showed mostly young men waving Palestine flags, breaking glass doors and running through the airport. Another group besieged police vehicles outside. The plane’s passengers were “in a safe place,” security forces said. Dagestan is one of several regions in the North Caucasus that are home to large Muslim communities.
