The family fought for her release for a long time – in vain. A 22-year-old German is said to have been killed by Hamas terrorists in the attack on October 7th.
According to her mother, the German Shani Louk, who has been missing since the Hamas terrorist attack on Israel, is dead. She was told this by the Israeli military during the night, Shani’s mother Ricarda Louk told the German Press Agency. RTL/ntv initially reported on it.
Her daughter’s body has not yet been found, said Ricarda Louk. However, a sliver of a skull bone was found and a DNA sample was taken from it. The parents had provided the necessary comparison material a long time ago. The mother assumes that her daughter has been dead since October 7th – she may have been killed by a shot in the skull during the terrorist attack.
According to her family, 22-year-old Shani Louk was killed by the Islamist Hamas at a music festival in Israel’s Negev Desert. Pictures and videos circulating on the Internet showed the young woman’s body on a pickup truck. Initially, Shani Louk’s family, some of whom live in Baden-Württemberg, assumed that the young woman was seriously injured but was alive and in the Gaza Strip. The family has been campaigning for the release of all hostages since the attack.
The Israeli military said it informed 239 families. According to the military, 40 people are still missing since the Hamas terrorist attack. Because of the poor condition of many of the bodies, identification has not yet been completed.
The news is terrible. But it’s good to have certainty now. “At least she didn’t suffer,” said Ricarda Louk.
