What should happen next after the war in the Gaza Strip? Israel has no scenario for this, says former CIA employee Bruce Riedel. And explains why neither the West nor the Arab states want to bear responsibility for the Palestinians in the future.

This war will last a few months. The Gaza Strip is a small, urban area and, with more than two million people, more densely populated than almost any other place in the world. This war will be a house-to-house battle. There will be many civilian casualties among the Palestinians and at the same time many on the side of the Israeli army.
