The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has an Iraqi arrested for suspected IS membership. The man is said to have joined the terrorist militia in 2013 and worked as a fighter for them.
The Federal Prosecutor’s Office has arrested a suspected member of the terrorist organization Islamic State (IS).
As the Karlsruhe authorities announced, the Iraqi was taken into custody abroad for suspected membership in a terrorist organization. Officials from the Federal Criminal Police Office arrested him on Monday in Freiberg in Saxony.
He is said to have joined IS in Iraq in the fall of 2013. According to the federal prosecutor’s investigation, he is said to have subsequently worked as a fighter for the organization. He is also said to have worked in the IS administration in the security area in northern Iraq between autumn 2016 and spring 2017.
