Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida told reporters he would “demand the cancellation of the launch” and that the country would “prepare with all our might for unforeseeable situations.” Kishida ordered his government to coordinate with Japan’s protector, the United States, and neighboring South Korea to pressure North Korea not to carry out the launch. Kishida added that any use of ballistic missile technology is a violation of UN resolutions.
