MFG requests the end of child vaccination – VP and FP do not refuse

MFG went to the state parliament session in November with two motions: One turned the data for the lockdown decision, which was being questioned. The other calls for an end to Covid vaccinations for children. Both motions were dealt with in the relevant committee today. And – surprisingly for many – with the votes of the ÖVP, FPÖ and MFG postponed to be dealt with again in the next committee meeting. SP club chairman Michael Lindner and Neos club chairman Felix Eypeltauer reacted immediately on Twitter: This is “unbelievable”, “hair-raising” and irresponsible. Severin Mayr, club chairman of the Greens, also finds clear words: The request is “nonsense” that VP and FP do not reject it, incomprehensible.

SPÖ and Neos upset

In an interview with the OÖN, Lindner vented his anger: “It was clear to us that we would reject these applications immediately. We absolutely do not understand why the ÖVP supports this.” Because it is Governor Thomas Stelzer (VP) and Health Councilor Christine Haberlander (VP) who aggressively promote child vaccination and made the decision to lockdown.

Haberlander himself took part in the committee meeting as an information person. The postponement of the application is not a contradiction to the activities to increase the vaccination quota, emphasized Haberlander’s spokesman in response to an OÖN request: “The state councilor is a clear advocate of vaccination.” The voting behavior is a matter for the VP Club.

The anger is also great because an SP / Greens / Neos application to jointly fight a pandemic is also postponed and is to be dealt with in the next meeting. It is absolutely incomprehensible that an application to fight a pandemic and an application to stop vaccinations are treated the same, according to Lindner.

MFG itself is happy about the non-rejection and celebrates it in its social channels as a “TOP sensation”.
