The Italian Medicines Agency gave the green light to the immunization of this age group on Wednesday, after the European agency EMA last approved the approval. Vaccinations for children in Italy are expected to start on December 23.
It is planned to set up pediatric departments in the vaccination centers. More than 87 percent of Italians over the age of twelve have been vaccinated at least once. As of today, Wednesday, all Italians over the age of 18 can get the third trick.
The Italian government of Prime Minister Mario Draghi last week drastically tightened the corona restrictions for non-vaccinated people. People who are not vaccinated against the coronavirus will be excluded from many activities, a cabinet meeting revealed. The measures will initially apply from December 6th to January 15th, but could then be extended if necessary.
