Russian President Vladimir Putin said that United Russia has proved that it is the party leader by right. He said this on Saturday, December 4, in an address to the participants in the plenary session of the third stage of the XX Congress of the political force.
According to him, the party proved itself worthy in rather difficult conditions and won a landslide victory.
“I believe that United Russia has adequately proved itself in the rather difficult, in many ways extraordinary conditions of the election campaign, withstood a tough, open competition and won confidently, with a solid advantage. She again proved that she is the party-leader by right. By the party of the people’s representation and the parliamentary majority, ”the Russian leader said.
According to him, the party’s program deservedly began to be called popular, each of its points is thought out and calculated.
On Saturday, United Russia is holding the third and final stage of its 20th anniversary congress, at which it sums up the results of the September elections to the State Duma. In its course, the rotation of the party’s governing bodies will be carried out.
Formally, the congress continues to be called the pre-election congress – its first part was held in June, then the party members approved the lists of candidates for elections to the State Duma and discussed their draft program. The text of this document, which was formed on the basis of citizens’ proposals and was called the “people’s program”, was approved at the second stage of the congress in August.
The third stage is timed to coincide with the 20th anniversary of United Russia, which was celebrated on December 1.
Following the September elections to the State Duma, United Russia won with 49.82% of the vote. 18.93% of voters voted for the Communist Party of the Russian Federation. LDPR – in third place with 7.55%. “Fair Russia” is also in the top five – 7.46%. In addition, fresh forces appeared on the political arena of the country. For the first time, New People crossed the 5% electoral barrier, gaining 5.32% of the vote.
On August 22, at a meeting with representatives of United Russia, Putin came up with an initiative to pay a one-time payment of 10 thousand rubles to all pensioners, including those who work. At the same time, the Russian leader proposed, at the end of 2021, to make a one-time payment to servicemen on average of 15 thousand rubles, and two days later ordered to extend this measure to cadets and law enforcement officers. The corresponding decrees were signed by the head of state in the same month.
