“If we talk about the Russian Red Cross and the law on the Red Cross, then I am ready to fully agree that such a normative act is in demand. He said that the Russian authorities will “carefully and calmly move in this direction.”

The Russian President also added that every effort will be made to ensure that the Russian language receives full support as a working language in the Federation.

“Regarding the support for the use of the Russian language as a working language in the Federation of the Red Cross and Crescent, I must say that we will do everything to make the Russian language acquire such a quality. Moreover, it is the official language of the UN. Many countries will certainly use this language because it is simply convenient for them. We will support these undertakings in every possible way, ”Putin assured the head of the IFRC.

He added that about 300 million people speak Russian in the world.

In the same conversation, Vladimir Putin stressed that in order to defeat the coronavirus, it is necessary to combine efforts at the international level, since new strains will appear in at least one region of the world due to problems with vaccination.

He also said that citizens vaccinated with the Russian Sputnik V coronavirus vaccine should not be infringed on the right to travel between countries. According to Putin, about 200 million people were vaccinated against coronavirus with Russian drugs.
