The members of Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen approved the coalition agreement with the SPD and FDP in a strike vote with 86 percent of the votes cast. With the approval of the party congresses of the SPD and FDP, the way is finally free for the future traffic light coalition. A total of 71,214 votes were cast, with around 125,000 members. The turnout was said to be 57 percent.

Greens: 57 percent turnout is considered good

Federal Managing Director Michael Kellner was pleased about this participation. It is in the order of magnitude of personnel decisions that were made in the past through member surveys. When the results were presented, inquiries that almost half of the party opposed to the coalition agreement might not have voted in the first place were rejected by Kellner as unfounded. Shares in the high 50 percent range are very good at Bündnis 90 / Die Grünen. The approval of the SPD and FDP had been significantly higher at over 90 percent each, although party congresses had passed the coalition agreement here. In these elected bodies, approval values are usually higher than among the entire membership.

With the coalition agreement, the green members also approved the occupation of the green ministries. It remains with Robert Habeck (economy and climate), Annalena Baerbock (outside), Steffi Lemke (environment and consumer protection), Anne Spiegel (family) and Cem Özdemir (nutrition and agriculture). Claudia Roth also takes over the Ministry of Culture in the Chancellery.
