Federal Chancellor Olaf Scholz (SPD) criticized vaccination opponents and vaccination refusals in surprisingly clear terms and accused them of unsolidarity.
“We shouldn’t be around the bush. We have our current problems because there is too large a group that has not been vaccinated despite all the recommendations. That is a big disappointment for me,” Scholz said stern. The “bitter truth” is therefore: “A vaccination is necessary.” It is “a matter of solidarity that we protect ourselves collectively. Vaccination is also a matter of solidarity.” The new Chancellor also defended the current restrictions on the unvaccinated by 2G rules: “Can an unvaccinated minority drive the whole country into lockdown?”

Olaf Scholz “of course” wants to raise the minimum wage in the first year
Scholz underlined that there will be no cutbacks in raising the minimum wage in one step. “Of course we will raise the minimum wage to twelve euros in the first year. That is a matter close to my heart,” he said stern. The pressure from parts of the economy to raise the minimum wage lower is what Scholz called a “predictable attempt”. Despite Corona, the traffic lights want to “get many projects off the ground immediately” in addition to the minimum wage, the Chancellor continued. “We will now pursue a reliable plan of how we can transform the country within 25 years so that we can operate in a climate-neutral manner and continue to remain an industrial country,” said Scholz.
