War in the Middle East: Hamas authority: Almost 25,000 dead in the Gaza Strip

According to one report, there is no peace even for the dead in Gaza. According to CNN, Israeli troops have also destroyed 16 cemeteries so far in the search for Israeli hostages.

According to the health authority controlled by the Islamist Hamas, 24,927 people have been killed in the Gaza Strip since the war began on October 7th. In the course of one day, 210 deaths were added. The number of injuries was reported as 62,388 on Saturday, meaning there were 280 more injuries within one day.

The humanitarian situation of the population in the sealed-off coastal area remained catastrophic due to the fighting, major destruction and inadequate supplies, as the UN emergency relief office OCHA announced on Platform X on Saturday night. Many of the approximately 1.7 million internally displaced people endured under plastic sheets. Diarrheal diseases spread due to poor hygiene. There are also reports of cases of hepatitis A.

But even for the dead in Gaza there is no rest. According to a report by the US broadcaster CNN, in the fight against the Islamist Hamas and in the search for Israeli hostages, Israeli troops have so far destroyed 16 cemeteries in the coastal strip, which is only around 40 kilometers long and between 6 and 12 kilometers wide.

Fights continue

The army said on Saturday that an unspecified number of terrorists had been killed in fighting in various parts of the Gaza Strip and that several rocket launchers intended to fire at Israel had been destroyed in the north and south in Khan Yunis, including with the help of the air force.

The army recently put the total number of members of terrorist groups killed in the Gaza Strip since the start of the war at around 9,000. According to Israeli media, 194 soldiers have died on the Israeli side since the ground offensive began at the end of October.

The Gaza war was triggered by the worst massacre in Israel’s history, carried out by terrorists from Hamas and other extremist groups on October 7th in Israel near the border with Gaza. They murdered more than 1,200 people. Since then, Israel has responded with heavy air strikes and, since October 27, with a massive ground offensive.
