Almost every week the Bundestag sits, the AfD makes a new attempt to get a vice-presidential position there. She fails just as regularly – now again.
The AfD is still not represented in the Presidium of the German Bundestag. Your candidate Jan Ralf Nolte clearly missed the required majority of 369 votes in the election for vice president. It received only 86 yes votes, but 560 no votes, and there were 14 abstentions.
The AfD also failed in its attempt to enter the parliamentary control committee responsible for the secret services. Your candidate Gereon Bollmann received 68 yes and 578 no votes with 12 abstentions. However, CDU domestic politician Marc Henrichmann was elected as a member of the control committee – with 521 yes and 92 no votes and 47 abstentions.
