Corona: Health ministers exempt boosted people from the obligation to test

The federal and state health ministers discussed new corona measures. According to Bavaria’s Minister of Health Holetschek, they have passed a resolution that should make the third corona vaccine dose more attractive.

People with a booster vaccination should as a rule be exempted from the obligation to test – even if this is actually required by those who have been vaccinated. This was announced by Bavaria’s Health Minister Klaus Holetschek (CSU) on Tuesday evening after consultations with the federal and state health ministers. However, this should not apply to medical facilities such as hospitals or nursing homes.

“We have agreed that people who have received a booster vaccination should be exempted from the obligation to test under the 2G-Plus regulation once they are fully effective,” said Holetschek. This is therefore accepted 15 days after receiving the booster vaccination. The decision should be reassessed after two months at the latest.

First conference with Federal Minister of Health Lauterbach

Another central topic of the conference of health ministers was how to deal with the Omikron variant of the coronavirus. For this, as well as to possibly shorten the recognition of the period of full vaccination protection, further expert advice should first be obtained. It was the first conference of the heads of department of the federal and state governments with the new Federal Health Minister Karl Lauterbach (SPD) in this function.
