Ukraine War: Survey: 61 percent fear expansion of the Ukraine war

It is now the second anniversary of Russia’s attack on Ukraine. The fronts remain closely interlinked. Many Germans fear that the war will spread.

According to a survey, a majority of citizens fear that the war in Ukraine will expand into the territory of the Western defense alliance NATO. This view is held by 61 percent, according to an Insa survey commissioned by “Bild am Sonntag” (BamS). 31 percent, however, are of the opinion that this will probably not happen.

Questions were also asked about the situation of Ukrainian refugees in Germany two years after the Russian attack on the neighboring country. Only 28 percent of participants have the impression that their integration was successful, the majority (51 percent) think it was a failure. 49 percent think that the refugees here receive too much support, while only 5 percent say that they receive too little. More than a third of those surveyed (35 percent) consider the services to be appropriate.

1003 people were surveyed from February 22nd to 23rd.
