The terrorist militia HTS is considered one of the strongest armed groups in the rebel stronghold of Idlib. Now she has been hit by an attack that has consequences.
A prominent jihadist from the militant Islamist terrorist militia Haiat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) was killed in a suicide attack in northwestern Syria, according to activists. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed to the German Press Agency that two of his bodyguards were also killed in the attack.
Abu Maria al-Kahtani was initially taken to the hospital and died from his injuries there. The attack took place north of Idlib. So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack.
Senior leader Al-Kahtani had been released from HTS militia prison just a few weeks earlier. The Iraqi was accused of cooperating with enemy groups, the Britain-based Observatory said.
HTS is considered one of the strongest armed groups in the rebel stronghold of Idlib. It was also previously allied with the Islamist terrorist organization Al-Qaeda. The militia wants to overthrow the government of President Bashar al-Assad, which now controls two-thirds of the country again.
