New Russian attacks on Odessa leave dead and injured, including a little girl. Wednesday is a special day in the history of the city.
According to official figures, at least four people were killed and 14 others injured in Russian rocket attacks on the Ukrainian port city of Odessa. The region’s military governor, Oleh Kiper, said on his Telegram channel that a ten-year-old girl was among those killed. Several injured people are in critical condition. According to him, the attack was carried out with Iskander ballistic missiles.
Odessa is one of the regions most severely affected by Russian air attacks. The city and the surrounding area were also the target of numerous attacks during the day on Wednesday.
The date has special meaning for Odessa: on April 10, 1944, the German occupying troops were driven out of the city during the Second World War. The regional and city administration celebrated the liberation of Odessa from the fascists by laying flowers. Russia repeatedly justifies its war against Ukraine by saying that it is fighting against the fascists that supposedly rule there.
