Putin discussed with members of the Security Council the draft foundations of state policy in the field of aviation

On December 21, Russian President Vladimir Putin, at a meeting with members of the Russian Security Council, discussed the draft foundations of state policy in the field of aviation.

“We will discuss with you today the draft Fundamentals of State Policy in the field of aviation activities until 2030,” the head of state said opening the event.

The meeting was attended by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko, State Duma Speaker Viacheslav Volodin, Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, Chief of Staff Anton Vaino, Secretary of the Security Council Nikolai Patrushev, Interior Minister Vladimir Kolokoltsev, Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu, Director of the FSB Alexander Bortnikov, director of the Foreign Intelligence Service Sergei Naryshkin, special presidential envoy for environmental protection, ecology and transport Sergei Ivanov.

Earlier, on October 19, the head of state said that small aircraft flights should become more affordable for citizens. In addition, Putin asked the government to prepare a detailed plan for the implementation of the transport strategy by the first quarter of next year, doing this in dialogue with governors and industry companies.

On October 14, the Russian leader announced that the Russian authorities would allocate $ 255 million to support regional and local air travel. The head of state noted that in Russia a special role is traditionally assigned to aviation, which often serves as the only link that can guarantee transport accessibility of remote regions.

Earlier, on July 20, Putin said that drones, robotic systems, artificial intelligence are the directions in which aviation will develop further. He also noted that the Russian Federation is ready for cooperation in the field of aviation and astronautics with all interested countries. The models presented at the International Aviation and Space Salon (MAKS) clearly demonstrate that Russian aviation has great potential for development, the president said.
