Robert Habeck has to go to an air raid shelter on a trip to Ukraine

For the people in Kiev it is everyday life, but for the Vice Chancellor it is an unusual experience: Robert Habeck had to seek protection in a bunker during his visit to Ukraine.

For Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, the day began in the air raid shelter. An air alarm was triggered in Kiev on Friday morning at 4:40 a.m. local time (3:40 a.m. German time). The Green Party politician and his companions spent around an hour and a half in the underground car park of their hotel until the all-clear was given again.

Robert Habeck also wants to travel to Moldova

Habeck has been in Ukraine since Thursday and continued his journey in the morning. A visit to Moldova was also planned, where Habeck wanted to meet, among others, Prime Minister Dorin Recean.

On Friday night there was another air alert in many regions of Ukraine. Explosions were reported in the city of Pavlohrad in the central Ukrainian industrial region of Dnipropetrovsk, among others. At the same time, Russia is also complaining about attacks by the Ukrainian military. There was a rocket alarm in the Belgorod border area during the night.
