In an interview with ABC television broadcasted Wednesday night (local time), Biden said that if his rival Trump entered the presidential race, “the chances of me running would increase.”

The 79-year-old is likely to allude to personal tragedies such as the death of his first wife and their daughter in a car accident and the loss of his son Beau after suffering from cancer. The Democrat had not ruled out a candidacy in the 2024 election.

The man, whose supporters attacked the Capitol on January 6 to prevent his rival’s victory from being authenticated, had hinted in recent months that he might run for another term. Biden, whose old age is fueling speculation about his plans for 2024, has already indicated that he is planning to run again.
