The head of VTsIOM spoke about the attitude of Russians to rising prices

The rise in prices for real estate, goods and travel is problem number two, comparable in resonance with the coronavirus pandemic, the head of VTsIOM Valery Fedorov told Izvestia.

“It worries everyone and prevents people from believing that the economic crisis is over. This is a very sensitive and hot topic. But people don’t come out to protest. Let’s not forget that unemployment in our country is low. The demography is bad, the labor market is not growing, and the number of migrants has decreased significantly. We have a deficit in the labor market – and people are starting to use it, ”Fedorov emphasized.

He also added that the Russians’ response to inflation is to seek more lucrative jobs, not rallies and demonstrations. “Employers cannot ignore the request to improve working conditions in the face of a shortage of labor,” stressed Valery Fedorov.

“There will be no total return to pre-pandemic life”
