A video from Stuttgart is being shared on social networks. Fans of the Turkish football club Galatasaray can be seen. You can hear: shouts of “Foreigners out”. Now the public prosecutor’s office is getting involved.
A video from Stuttgart is spreading on social media in which fans of the Turkish football club Galatasaray Istanbul are apparently shouting the slogan “Foreigners out”. The public prosecutor’s office is now looking into the matter. “We are examining whether there are sufficient actual indications of criminally relevant behavior,” confirmed a spokesperson. Several media outlets had previously reported on the video.
The clip published on the X platform shows a large crowd of people, including those wearing Turkish club jerseys. The racist slogan “Foreigners out” can be heard repeatedly. The public prosecutor’s office was initially unable to say to what extent the video is relevant under criminal law.
Ayhan Yildiz, chairman of the board of the Galatasaray Sport and Fan Club eV Stuttgart, called the incident “shameful”. He said he was there himself on Königstrasse. In his opinion, the shouts could reflect growing hostility between people with a migrant background and people who have only recently moved to Germany. Others were simply trying to attract attention with such slogans online, he criticized.
Just a few days ago, a video of party guests on Sylt sparked nationwide outrage. Guests were singing racist slogans to the tune of a party hit.
The Turkish defending champion Galatasaray Istanbul won the championship 3-1 (1-0) against Konyaspor on Sunday on the last matchday of the Süper Lig. There were celebrations in several cities, including Stuttgart.
