As Izvestia found out, the first deputy chairman of the State Duma Committee on Security and Anti-Corruption Andrei Lugovoi sent a request to the Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation Konstantin Chuichenko, in which he asks to check information about the financing of the British Foreign Office (Foreign Office) of Russian NGOs.
“We are talking about the creation and promotion of new political and public leaders, the formation of a positive perception of their rhetoric among Russians, the preparation of changes in education and active work with Russian youth. For 34 projects, organizations from 17 regions of Russia were allocated more than 1 billion rubles until 2023, as well as 81 million for the Chevening scholarship program, ”reads the request, which is at the disposal of Izvestia.
The deputy also reports that projects aimed at building the capacity of Russian human rights defenders, combating torture in prisons and lobbying for a law on domestic violence are being funded especially on a large scale. In his opinion, this is done to create tension in society and the growth of protest moods. Among the cities for which a significant budget has been allocated, Andrei Lugovoi names Moscow, St. Petersburg, Petrozavodsk, Arkhangelsk, Veliky Novgorod, Pskov, Penza, Yekaterinburg, Chelyabinsk, Yoshkar-Olu, Perm and Tomsk.
